1Greater Short-toed LarkCalandrella brachydactyla
Small lark, was a few meters from me, on the ground, and took flight when I approached, making a call that I did not recognize but didn't sound like A. arvensis. I ran back to the car to get my camera but unfortunately lost sight of it during the process. In terms of size, I would say it was smaller than Fringila, or at least about the same size. It looked specially orange in the brown dirt. It had no crest, and the beak was short, and relatively strong. I'm excluding Alauda as this bird looked way too small, the sound didn't seem to check out, the beak looked thicker in relation to its length, and the overall coloration and vibe didn't strike me as Alauda at all. I'm also excluding L. arborea as the face seemed smooth, with no clear supercilium, as well as the habitat and overall behavior, that don't really make sense for Lululla.
