1 | Eurasian Golden OrioleOriolus oriolus I saw a bird flying into a cork oak, roughly starling-size, but clearly light-colored with some patterning (like a thrush or a woodpecker). It vocalized immediately after perching, which revealed to me it was Oriolus. I tried approaching the tree a bit and, when I did, I saw it fly in the opposite direction, and again I could tell it was some light-colored and patterned starling-sized bird, but I would've not made the ID without the sound, for sure, as I didn't see the bird well enough. Fortunately, I was recording something else at the moment, and managed to capture audio of the bird vocalizing. |
