I didn't count all the usual birds that are always present here, just the species that sermed to be passing through.
2 | Eurasian CurlewNumenius arquata Feeding in the saltmarsh |
1 | Common SandpiperActitis hypoleucos |
272 | Audouin's GullIchthyaetus audouinii At least 272 (almost certainly more) flew west along Cabanas waterfront between 15.15 and 17.15. Majority were adults but quite a few 1st and 2nd summers too. Some were in mixed groups with Yellow-legged Gulls but many were in single species groups of 3 to 15. |
1 | Glossy IbisPlegadis falcinellus Flew east |
4 | Western Cattle-EgretArdea ibis Flew west |
1 | European Bee-eaterMerops apiaster Flew north west |
1 | Lesser KestrelFalco naumanni A male Lesser Kestrel flew north-west over my head while I was counting the Audouin's Gulls moving west. I didn't pick it up till it was quite close to me but it looked as if it had flown in off the sea. |
